Steelhead Trout Grilling Recipe
- 1 Grill
- 1 Grill brush
- 1 Tongs
- Aluminum foil
- 1 Basting Brush
- 4 steelhead trout fillets
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 lemon, sliced
- 2 teaspoons fresh thyme leaves
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Lemon wedges and fresh herbs for garnish
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat, about 400°F (200°C). Clean the grill grates with a grill brush to ensure they are free of any debris.
- Rinse the steelhead trout fillets under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Place them on a large tray or platter.
- Drizzle olive oil over both sides of the trout fillets and rub them with minced garlic. Sprinkle fresh thyme leaves evenly over the fillets. Season both sides with salt and black pepper to taste. Place lemon slices on top of the fillets.
- Before placing the fillets on the grill, lightly oil the grill grates to prevent sticking. You can do this by dipping a folded paper towel in vegetable oil and using tongs to rub it over the grates.
- Place the seasoned trout fillets directly on the grill grates, skin side down. Close the grill lid and cook for about 5-7 minutes per side, depending on the thickness of the fillets. - While grilling, use a basting brush to lightly brush the trout fillets with fresh lemon juice to enhance the flavor.
- Carefully remove the grilled steelhead trout fillets from the grill using tongs. Transfer them to a serving platter, garnish with lemon wedges and fresh herbs, and serve immediately.
